UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Humanities (FIB) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held a closing ceremony to honor inbound students from Kasetsart University, Thailand. The event took place in the Chairil Anwar Room, Faculty of Humanities Building, Dharmawangsa-B Campus, UNAIR, on Saturday, March 1, 2025.
During his remarks, FIB lecturer David Segoh, SS, MEd, PhD, expressed his gratitude to all participants for their active involvement in both academic sessions and cultural excursions. “We hope you had a fulfilling experience throughout the program, especially during the trip to Banyuwangi. May these memories stay with you, and we sincerely hope that one day, you will return here, or we will have the opportunity to visit Thailand,” he said.
As part of the ceremony, inbound students from Kasetsart University delivered final project presentations, sharing insights from their experiences. Five groups presented on various topics, with evaluations conducted by a panel of four judges. “To acknowledge their efforts, each group will receive an award in one of five categories: Best PowerPoint, Best Presentation, Most Active Group, Cutest Group, and Most Proficient Use of Bahasa Indonesia,” explained Viqi Viqi Ardaniah, PhD, one of the judges.
Reflections from inbound students
Aum, one of the student presenters, reflected on his experience, emphasizing the warm hospitality of the Indonesian people as the highlight of his stay. “If given the opportunity in the future, we would love to return to Indonesia and visit Universitas Airlangga again,” he shared.
Echoing Aum’s sentiments, Julie recounted her visit to Mount Bromo. “We were incredibly excited. The jeep ride up the mountain was exhausting, but the stunning scenery and breathtaking view of Mount Bromo made it all worthwhile,” she added.
The closing ceremony concluded with a farewell dinner and a group photo session. Participants also exchanged gifts as tokens of appreciation, signifying the strong bonds formed throughout the program.
