UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) once again demonstrated its concern for students through a concrete action on campus. Eratex Djaja–Busana Group officially handed over assistance through the “Busana Apparel Group Peduli Bencana” program to Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) students. The assistance was intended for students coming from areas affected by floods and landslides in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra. The handover took place at Kahuripan Room 301, Management Office, MERR-C Campus UNAIR, Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
Empathy for students from affected areas
The Vice Rector of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) warmly welcomed the initiative from Busana Apparel Group. “Hopefully, this contribution can bring benefits to fellow students as well as the local residents,” said Prof Ir Mochammad Amin Alamsjah MSi PhD, Vice Rector for Academic, Student, and Alumni Affairs (AMA) UNAIR.
The event served as both moral and material support for students pursuing their studies while facing difficulties in their hometowns. Busana Apparel Group initiated the assistance after seeing the severe impact of disasters that struck several areas in Sumatra in recent weeks. Some UNAIR students from the affected regions lost personal belongings or even experienced damage to their homes due to flooding or landslides.

“As a large family, Busana Apparel Group feels called to participate in alleviating the suffering of students affected by floods in Aceh, West Sumatra, and North Sumatra,” said Pradeep Kaira, VP of Operations at Eratex Busana Apparel Group. The assistance was symbolically handed over to students from various faculties. The aid is expected to ease students’ living needs so that they can remain focused on their academic activities without being burdened by clothing or daily necessities.
Hope from students receiving assistance
One of the students receiving assistance expressed gratitude for the support from Busana Apparel Group. “On behalf of myself and my fellow students, thank you. I hope the assistance from Apparel Group will be useful throughout our studies at UNAIR,” said Adit, one of the student recipients.
The event concluded with a group photo session and an informal discussion between the Busana Apparel Group management and the student recipients. Through this initiative, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) hopes that the spirit of solidarity continues to grow on campus, fostering a supportive educational ecosystem for students whose families were affected by the disasters in Sumatra.
