As a mother of two children who are still toddlers, the decision to continue master’s degree education in Surabaya certainly was not an easy matter. Consequently, the woman born in Denpasar, December 6, 1984 had to live far away from her husband and children to focus on completing education.
Asked about her memorable experience, Eka remembered the beginning of the semester, she had to go through a pregnancy that requires bedrest for several weeks.
When she was in her first semester, Eka had an ectopic pregnancy (KET). So she had to be operated and her right egg tube was cut. From the incident, Eka was more desperate to finish faster, because I wanted to undergo IVF program.
Unexpectedly, early in the third semester she was blessed with a pregnancy. “At the second gestational age, she had experienced spots, so it requires me to bedrest for several weeks,” she said.
Fortunately, her pregnancy could survive and she resumed education that had been delayed. In the fourth semester, Eka gave birth to her second child. However, she had to live far from her family. “It’s hard to leave my children at that time and complete the thesis,” she said.
The two “trials” were her excellent life experiences. Her struggle as a mother does not stop there. Although she is far from her baby, but Eka still tried to breastfed Ni Kadek Airin Wahyuni, her second child. (*)
