Zombies Haunt Night Runners of Dean Cup 2018

UNAIR NEWS – Hundreds of Night Run participants were shocked by the presence of zombies suddenly appeared out of nowhere. They tried to frighten and take the number of participants attached on the runners’ left arm. As a result, some of these zombies managed to scare the participants. Some screamed hysterically, ran faster, but some just ignored the zombies.

The opening ceremony of Faculty of Medicine (FK) UNAIR Dean Cup 2018 took place on the front yard of FK UNAIR on Saturday, March 24. The event committee held a night run event attended by 500 runners, from high school students, running communities, students, and academicians of FK UNAIR.

For the event titled Agoraphobia: Frightmare Run, participants had to run for six kilometers. In some spots along the route, zombies suddenly appeared.

Head of Opening committee, Adra said that the zombies were made as realistic as possible. “Like in the movies. Although we do not have a reliable makeup artist, but we try to make it as realistic as possible, so the participants will be surprised, “said Adra.

The zombies described by Adra were indeed more like inanimate creatures, hunting down the runners. They will walk a little bit faster from 4 spots along the night run route.

Of course these zombies were not real. They were dozens of students of UNAIR FK who deliberately dressed up and with makeup like zombies.

“We have trained them and runners need not worry, because they are also equipped with some water balloons as ammunition to attack the zombies. When a zombie is hit by a water ball, he will freeze for a few seconds. This is what distinguishes the event from other Zombie Run, “added Adra.

Runners were not be worried because there ere water stations prepared, and also some medical teams placed at certain spots, to anticipate things undesirable.
