UNAIR NEWS – The Ctrl+Alt+Elite Team from Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) presented EquiTask AI, an AI-based automated assessment platform that assists teachers with design assessment to support inclusive education. The team brought this innovation in the Digital Education Technology Innovation category at the Lomba Inovasi Digital Mahasiswa (LIDM) 2026.

The Ctrl+Alt+Elite team consists of Velisa Dwi Agustin, Mairisa Rahma Zainia, Rafalen Labibsani Farisqha, and Rafida Arsya Wardani. Three of them are students from the D4 Information Engineering, Faculty of Vocational Studies. While Zainia is a student from the bachelor of Nursing program, Faculty of Nursing.

EquiTask AI helps teachers in preparing assessments for regular students and students with cognitive impairments. This platform used a Sequential Multi-Agent Pipeline system involving a curriculum agent, a special needs psychology agent, a weight-balancing agent, and a validator agent. These four agents work together to ensure that question adjustments do not merely simplify the questions, but still maintain the competencies intended to be measured.

“For students with cognitive impairments, sometimes the questions given need to be adjusted. However, this adjustment must not lower the competencies being measured,” Zainia explained.

Even though AI technology has been used widely to assist in question generation, teachers still need to provide specific instructions and review the suitability of the results. This situation encouraged the Ctrl+Alt+Elite team to present a system that can assist the questions adjustment process while checking it.

“We want to create a system that not merely generates questions using AI, but also assist the questions adjustment and checking process so they better suit students’ needs, without eliminating the competencies intended to be achieved,” Zainia added.

The development process of EquiTask AI has been ongoing since May 2026. The team started the process by identifying the problem, formulating the concept, drafting the proposal, and building a prototype to participate in UNAIR’s internal selection. After successfully passing, the team continued to develop EquiTask AI to compete at Lomba Inovasi Digital Mahasiswa (LIDM) 2026 in the national level.

During the preliminary stage, the team uploaded their work on July 17, 2026. Subsequently, on September 1, 2026, the Ctrl+Alt+Elite team received news that they had successfully advanced to the final stage of LIDM 2026. Currently, the team is refining the application through feature development, validation, and user testing with teachers and students at inclusive schools in preparation for the final round this coming November.

For the Ctrl+Alt+Elite team, their participation in the LIDM 2026 is not merely an effort to achieve accolades, but also an opportunity to develop EquiTask AI so that it can be more impactful. They hope this innovation will continue to develop and assist the establishment of a more inclusive assessment process for teachers and students.

“Equal education is not always about providing the same thing, but also providing a suitable opportunity for every student,” Zainia concluded.
