Faculty of Law UNAIR Public Relations (March 29, 2023) – (29/03/23) – The Faculty of Law Universitas Airlangga once again brings new innovation. This time, the new 12-story building named Abdoel Gaffar Pringgodigdo Building, or Pringgodigdo Building for short, underwent a groundbreaking, or stone-laying, ceremony. The event was held on Monday (March 27, 2023), attended by invited guests, including the Rector of Universitas Airlangga, Prof Dr Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak.

Held in the middle of the fasting month, the event did not dampen the enthusiasm of the invited guests and the Faculty of Law UNAIR academic community. The dress rehearsal ran from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and quite a few invited guests and members of the academic community arrived before the event began. Among the guests were several distinguished figures, such as Professor Emeritus of the Faculty of Law UNAIR Prof Dr Frans Limahelu SH LLM, Prof Dr Moch Isnaeni SH MS, Prof Dr Sri Hajati SH MS, and Prof Dr Didik Endro Purwoleksono SH MH.

After the rehearsal and preparations were completed, the event began at 12:30 p.m. The opening was marked by a warm welcome from the master of ceremonies (MC). The event then continued with remarks from Andek Prabowo, Director and Senior Vice President of Building Operations at PT Pembangunan Perumahan (Persero) (PT PP).

In his remarks, Prabowo said the fundamental things PT PP will do in constructing the Pringgodigdo Building are determination, punctuality, and an adjusted budget. Prabowo also hopes that, with PT PP handling this project, stakeholders, educators, the academic community, and students who will occupy the building will take part and cooperate to make the construction a success.

The remarks continued with the Rector of Universitas Airlangga, Nasih. In his remarks, he said the participation and compassion of the Faculty of Law have been felt since long ago. It started with the Faculty of Law’s move out of the building now occupied by the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga, and now continues with its move to the new building so that the old building can be used for the development of the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) Universitas Airlangga.

He hopes that this construction will make the academic climate at the Faculty of Law even better. “Creating an academic climate also means creating a climate where people learn comfortably, lecturers teach comfortably, and the reading room is used, with every floor full of people discussing,” he concluded in his remarks.

The event then continued with the presentation of souvenirs and the groundbreaking. Key parties involved, such as the Dean of the Faculty of Law UNAIR, the UNAIR Rector, and the entire PT PP team, held a videotron screen as a symbol of the groundbreaking, followed by revealing the Pringgodigdo Building construction project to the audience.

After the groundbreaking, the event closed with a joint prayer and closing remarks by the MC. The invited guests were then invited to leave the venue.
