UNAIR NEWS – As one of the leading universities in Indonesia, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) continues to maintain recognition nationally and globally. As of November 2023, UNAIR has been reaccredited Excellent by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). This achievement was decreed in a Certificate of Accreditation Number 1017/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.Ppj/PT/XI/2023.

Head of UNAIR Quality Assurance Board (BPM) Prof. Nurul Bazirah SH LLM PhD explained that UNAIR had met all the assessment criteria set by BAN-PT. This achievement should make the entire UNAIR community proud.

UNAIR has achieved excellent accreditation for a long time. The latest accreditation was a conversion from A to Excellent accreditation. The quality of this institution is undoubted. “UNAIR has fulfilled all the accreditation criteria, even exceeded them,” she said.

The Faculty of Law (FH) lecturer said that UNAIR is committed and makes serious efforts to fulfill and exceed all the accreditation assessment criteria that BAN-PT has implemented. In this case, there are 7 accreditation assessment criteria for higher education institutions:

Vision, Mission, Goals and Strategy; Tata Tamong, Governance, and Cooperation; Student, Human Resources; Finance, Facilities, and Infrastructure; Education; Research, Community Services; and finally, the Outcomes and Achievements of the Tridharma.

She said that UNAIR strives to maintain all the achievements of these criteria with various programs and innovations. Starting from encouraging students to excel, improving facilities and infrastructure to meet quality and quantity standards, maximizing the Tridharma of higher education, and many more.

Furthermore, the professor of International Law emphasized that this accreditation is UNAIR’s responsibility for all stakeholders. Through this recognition, the community will believe that UNAIR is one of the quality universities in Indonesia.

“Furthermore, this recognition will also have other positive impacts. UNAIR will attract more student candidates and be competitive. There will also be more offers of cooperation, both from industry and other parties,” said Prof Nurul.

Finally, the member of the Board of Governors of the International Association of Law School (IALS) hoped that UNAIR accreditation would not only be limited to the national scale but also on the international scale. UNAIR will strive to increase global recognition through world-renowned accreditation institutions.

UNAIR has succeeded in obtaining international accreditation from 6 well-known institutions. They are ASIIN, AUN-QA, ABEST21, ASIC, FIBAA, and APHEA.

“UNAIR as one of the best campuses in Indonesia has been a pioneer in educational development. UNAIR has also had a significant impact both locally and globally. I hope the world community can recognize UNAIR’s existence as a university that is on par with well-known universities in the world,” she concluded. (*)
