UNAIR NEWS – The Student Executive Board (BEM) of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) has officially entered a new leadership period. After going through the General Student Election (PEMIRA), Muhammad Amirul Ihsan and Ahmad Abid Zhahiruddin were officially elected as President and Vice President of BEM FEB. Both are students of the Management and Islamic Economics study programs.
Philosophy of Rasi Karya Cabinet
In this new leadership era, Ihsan and Zhahiruddin introduced the name Rasi Karya Cabinet. Etymologically, Rasi Karya consists of two words: Rasi and Karya. The word Rasi is inspired by the term constellation, which forms a beautiful pattern and is interconnected with other constellations. Meanwhile, Karya refers to tangible contributions to society and students. Philosophically, the Rasi Karya Cabinet represents the idea that BEM FEB functionaries can collaborate with one another to create meaningful impacts for students and society.
“Rasi Karya carries the philosophy that every functionary can shine like a star and build strong connections among organizations and departments as a whole,” Zhahiruddin said in an online interview on Friday, March 6, 2026.
Changes and focus of work programs
To realize this philosophy, the Rasi Karya Cabinet has established three flagship programs: Pekan Intelektual dan Kebersamaan Mahasiswa Ekonomi dan Bisnis (PIKMEN), TEDx Universitas Airlangga, and Economic Week. PIKMEN is a program aimed at serving as an orientation activity for new students at FEB UNAIR. TEDx Universitas Airlangga aims to foster international-level collaboration. These flagship programs will be complemented by routine programs implemented by each cabinet.
In line with these programs, the Rasi Karya Cabinet focuses on three main areas: entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial achievements, and career readiness. These priorities also support the faculty’s vision and mission. “This year, we focus on supporting the faculty’s vision and mission, particularly in entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial achievements, and career readiness,” Zhahiruddin said.
During this period, the Rasi Karya Cabinet will introduce four changes: centralization of systems and culture, relevance of ongoing work programs, collaboration-oriented initiatives, and structural optimization. The main emphasis will be on the centralization of culture and systems. This will be realized through the establishment of new bodies within the organizational structure, namely the Strategy Board and the Organizational Team. These bodies are responsible for ensuring that the performance of cabinet functionaries is well documented and effectively achieved.
Hopes for students
Through this leadership period, the Rasi Karya Cabinet brings new hopes to all elements of FEB UNAIR students. In line with the philosophy behind the cabinet’s name, BEM FEB hopes to become a platform that unites students’ ideas and potential so they can grow together while creating a meaningful impact on the wider community.
“In line with the philosophy of our cabinet, we hope that Rasi Karya can unite us. We aim to grow together in achieving shared goals and create meaningful impacts for the wider community and FEB students,” Zhahiruddin said.
