UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) served as a model in infrastructure development and information technology governance within the higher education sector. Directorate of Information Systems and Digital Transformation (DSITD) along with Center for Single Data and Digital Intelligence (PUSAKA) hosted a visit from Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ). This activity was held on Tuesday (September 29, 2026), at the Kahuripan 301 Room, Management Office MERR-C Campus, UNAIR.

In attendance to welcome this visit were the Director of UNAIR DSITD, Rachman Sinatrya Marjianto BEng MSc; Head of PUSAKA, Dr Unggul Heriqbaldi SE MSi MAppEc; along with their representative staff. Representing UPNVJ were the Associate Dean II of Faculty of Computer Science (FIK), Dr Bambang Saras Yulistiawan ST MKom; as well as lecturers of FIK and administrative staff from UPNVJT: Rizky Tito Prasetyo MTI, Ade Hikma Tiana SKom MKom, and Fransiska Farah R SKom.

Head of PUSAKA, Dr Unggul Heriqbaldi explained that the development of PUSAKA at UNAIR began with the formation of a task force (Satgas) coordinated by university leadership and DSITD. The development of PUSAKA was aimed to solve the fragmentation of dozens of operational systems. He noted that UNAIR PUSAKA was built by trust and managerial commitment through a reverse engineering approach. The team then designed the visualization and operational dashboard.

“This task force then transformed into an independent data governance center which intensively coordinates the development of campus’ digital architecture,” he explained.

PUSAKA then strengthened its digital portfolio through various instruments and held data literacy programs to promote evidence-based decision-making. This acceleration of information technology governance is guided by international standards such as Framework Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO), to ensure alignment with the university’s strategic plan.

“The development of PUSAKA digital products has successfully increased the automation of the university’s performance indicators to 77 percent,” he emphasized.

On the other hand, Head of the Information Technology Planning and Governance Section at DSITD, Raiesa Rachman SKom, explained that DSITD achieved operational synergy through a division into two main areas: system operations and databases, and system development. Rachman emphasized that this division was aimed to maintain the reliability of infrastructure while also supporting campus’ information technology innovations.

“We focused in these two sectors and were responsible for operational and transactional systems, application development, network infrastructure, server, data center, and cyber security. We managed network infrastructure, data center, web hosting, cyber security, and technical support,” he explained.

Rachman continued, the centralized data governance applied by UNAIR aimed to ensure consistency and information security across all campus units. This standardization must be met to ensure optimal data integration and prevent system redundancy. “Every new data application development must accessible by Pusat Satu Data,” he explained

As an information, this visit aimed to discuss ideas related to the development of Enterprise Architecture (EA) and the implementation of ideal IT Governance on campus. The visit was concluded with the handover of souvenirs and a group photo session.
