UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga’s Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) held a social service event, health education, and free health checkups at Karangrejo Urban Village Hall, Banyuwangi, on Saturday (October 10, 2026). The event was an expression of DWP UNAIR’s care for the community through educational aid, social aid, and health education.

DWP Chair Dr dr Retno Budiarti Madyan said the social service was not only about providing aid, but also a means of fostering ties with the community.

“Besides showing care, DWP UNAIR brings benefits to the community. A social service event is not only about giving aid, but about building ties with all of you here,” she said.

Social Service Organizing Committee Chair Dyan Asra ST MT said the aid reflects attention to children’s educational needs. “By giving these school supplies, we hope to help meet children’s educational needs while also encouraging them to keep learning and pursue their dreams,” Asra said. After presenting the educational aid, UNAIR DWP also prepared basic food packages for 50 older adults and underprivileged residents.

Besides social and educational aid, DWP UNAIR held health education sessions on several health issues, featuring UNAIR academics: Dr Primatia Yogi Wulandari SPsi MPsi, a lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology (FPsi) UNAIR; and dr Muhammad Nazmuddin MSc PhD and dr Kurnia Alisaputri Sp PD, lecturers at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Medicine, and Natural Sciences (FIKKIA) UNAIR Banyuwangi.
