UNAIR FPK alumni association reinforces organizational strength and professionalism through Full Board Meeting

UNAIR NEWS – At the beginning  of its 2026 to2030 term, the IKA UNAIR FPK Commissariat organized a Full Board Meeting (Rapat Badan Pengurus Lengkap or RPBL) to establish the foundation for its organizational agenda. The meeting focused on aligning work programs with the central board of IKA UNAIR while responding to the needs of alumni in current industrial era. The RPBL took place at the auditorium of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Airlangga, on March 15, 2026.

The meeting marked an important moment for board members to align their vision and define a clearer organizational roadmap. In addition to strengthening internal coordination, the forum also followed directives from IKA UNAIR Chairperson Khofifah Indar Parawansa, who emphasized the importance of synergy, coordination, and collaboration across all levels of the organization, from the central board to regional, branch, and commissariat leadership. Through this effort, the IKA UNAIR FPK Commissariat aims to strengthen alumni contributions to the faculty’s development.

Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Prof. Dr. Endang Dewi Masithah, Ir., M.P., also congratulated the committee on successfully organizing the RPBL, which carried the theme Alumni Sambang Kampus. She highlighted the significance of holding the event on campus and expressed her support for the organization’s continued advancement.

Ardhito Himawan, S.Pi., M.M., chair of the organizing committee, stated that organizational effectiveness is essential to achieving the group’s vision and mission while delivering meaningful impact for alumni and the broader community. He expressed hope that the meeting would help improve organizational performance and generate tangible benefits for all stakeholders.

Okky Hermawan, S.Pi., M.Si., the newly elected chair of the IKA UNAIR FPK Commissariat, stressed that alumni should function as a strategic link between academia and professional practice. He noted that the organization seeks to move beyond being merely a networking platform and instead become a space that creates opportunities and supports alumni development.

Support also came from senior member and former chair for the 2016–2020 term, Arif Syaifurizal, S.Pi., who encouraged the new leadership to maintain continuity in existing programs while continuing to innovate and adapt to meet organizational demands.

“I’m sure with the spirit of togetherness, this new board can improve quality of the organization, becoming more solid, professional, and sustainable,” he said.

With the successful implementation of the RPBL, the IKA UNAIR FPK Commissariat is entering a new phase of leadership that focused on stronger collaboration and a more dynamic approach, with the goal of contributing positively to alumni, the university, and the wider community.
