UNAIR NEWS – Nabilla Septanti, an undergraduate student in Biomedical Engineering at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), received the Most Engaging Content Creator award in the Google Student Ambassador (GSA) 2026 Batch 1 on August 23, 2026. Septanti received the award after completing the 2026 Google Student Ambassador Batch 1 program.

Septanti, who is also known as Abil, said the Google Student Ambassador is a program that gives students the opportunity to become part of the Google community while introducing Google’s technology and innovation, particularly Gemini AI, to the campus environment.

While taking part in the program, Septanti received various briefs and challenges that she had to turn into content. She worked to create content that did not merely fulfill the assignments, but was also light, relevant, and easy for audiences to understand.

Packaging technology in her own communication style

According to Abil, the biggest challenge during the program was presenting fairly technical information about technology and artificial intelligence (AI) in an engaging way that others could easily understand.

“When we talk about technology, the language can sometimes feel too serious or too complex. The challenge was how to package that information into something lighter and more relatable, without losing the core of the information,” Abil said.

Besides creating content, Abil also had to balance her time between classes and other activities. This taught her to manage her time, set priorities, and stay consistent in producing content.

She also tried to view content from the audience’s perspective. For her, good content is measured not only by the number of viewers, but also by its ability to interest the audience, make them feel connected, and encourage them to interact.

A memorable moment in Jakarta

One of Abil’s most memorable experiences was attending the awarding and graduation events in Jakarta. During the events, participants also attended a Career Workshop on technology and marketing, and visited interactive booths showcasing Google products such as Gemini, Nano Banana, and NotebookLM.

Abil said she was surprised when her name was called as one of the nominees for the Most Engaging Content Creator. The award was then presented directly by Olivia Husli Basrin, Country Lead for Google for Education Indonesia.

“For me, this award isn’t just about the numbers. It’s also a form of appreciation that the content I create can actually reach people and give something to them,” she said.

After receiving the award, Abil wants to continue creating content on technology and AI that benefits students. She also wants to explore the intersection of technology, AI, and health, in line with her background in Biomedical Engineering, and bring her experience as a GSA to contribute within UNAIR.
