UNAIR Welcomes International Students of INDIAIR Program

UNAIR NEWS –  There are many foreign students from various countries greeted each other and introduced themselves. They are international student from universities in East Java, Indonesia who join welcoming session of INDIAIR (Indonesian Diversity at Airlangga) Program. The event took place at Plenary Hall, Management Office Universitas Airlangga.

INDIAIR is the first event which hosted by UNAIR as two-week short course. In this program, the participants will be introduced the multiculturalism and culture diversity in Indonesia.  The offered course includes Saman Class, Gamelan Class, culture discussion and also Lecture Field Trip.

Irfan Wahyudi S.Sos., MComms as the head of international program division, Airlangga Global Engagement informed in this program, student will be introduced with culture and learning process in Universitas Airlangga.

“Furthermore, this program will gain the mobility for international student on Universitas Airlangga. We need to build innovations, and this is one of them,” He said

In the occasion, also attended by Vice Rector I , Prof. Djoko Santoso, dr., Sp.PD-KGH., Ph.D., FINASIM; Dean of Faculty of Humanity  Diah Ariani Arimbi, S.S, M.A, Ph.D; and also keynote speaker Stanley Harsha, former American diplomat in Indonesia.

Stanley provided brief outlook about culture diversity in Indonesia from the foreign point of view. It is expected to gain insight of INDIAIR participants.

Rajesh Dass from Nepal explained that he was so interested in this program to discover more about the city he live for study, Surabaya.

“I am so interested and enthusiast, through this program, I will discover more about Indonesia, Surabaya and especially Universitas Airlangga,” Rajesh said
