The Youth Should More Aware and Act

NEWS UNAIR – The role of youth in realizing a change is needed. Youth must take part in solving social problems of society. Quoted from Bung Karno “Give me 10 youth, undoubtedly, I’ll rock the world”, it is not just a jargon. It suggests that youth are at the forefront of change.

Airlangga Urban Social Community Airlangga (AUSCA) Urban Social Community Award is a series of events which hosted by Ministry of Community Service, BEM KM Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR).

Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Ministry of Social, who spoke at the AUSC appreciated for the AUSC urban social community. According to her, it could be a role model activity for the concern of BEM UNAIR in establishing library in village.

“This is part of the term “Kids nowadays” that is the spirit of the youth movement in doing social movements. Through the event, BEM UNAIR performs with a shortening in decreasing gini ratio, “said Khofifah who is also alumnus of UNAIR.

]According to her, the disparity of social been answered by BEM UNAIR through real programs. Concern in improving reading interest in Kampung Jolosutro, Blitar, is a conclusive evidence of the role of young people.

“People will be able to maximize the library to gain insights. Children can increase their knowledge. This library hopefully can provide awareness the importance of reading, “said Khofifah.

Responding to this, Anang Fajrul as chairman of BEM UNAIR conveyed the same thing. Youth and students must participate in resolving social issues, especially through community services.

“Especially with the various backgrounds of science we have, students can collaborate each other to answer the problems in society,” he added.

According to Anang, there were many communities or people who have been engaged in a community services capable of bringing influence to society. It should be appreciated so that in the future, the spirit of sharing, especially students, to the problems in the community can be built.

Khofifah added that KH Wahid Hasyim had been the youngest member of BPUPKI, which was 30 years old. His young age energy spent on building society, nation, and country. Historical records have provided a lesson for us to fill the youth with positive energy, especially to build the progress of the nation and state, through solutions to the nearest problems.
