UNAIR NEWS – UNAIR Rector Prof. Mohammad Nasih with other officials have received a visit from Universitas Terbuka Jakarta, Monday, August 14. The delegation was welcomed in Rector’s Office Management Office Building Campus C UNAIR. The visit was made to strengthen ties between both institutions.
To UNAIR News, the Rector of Universitas Terbuka Jakarta Prof. Drs. Ojat Darojat, M.Bus. Ph,D., expressed his pleasure for having been able to visit UNAIR. The location of UT Surabaya which is inside UNAIR was also a reason.
“UNAIR is the first campus we visited. We are talking further on possible collaborations, especially related to UT readiness to support conventional university to hold long distance educational program,” said Ojat.
Regarding the plan, Ojat said that UT is ready to organize education for students spread across Indonesia.
UNAIR and UT have established partnership for a while as UNAIR provided the human resources for its lecturers.
Through this visit Ojat hoped there will be more collaborations between UT and UNAIR. Like the concept of Nawacita introduced by President Joko Widodo, UT also has similar dream to build the generation from the outskirts.
“To make the nation more intelligent from the outskirts. It is not only UT’s role, but also the conventional universities’ to provide education to community in the outskirt regions,” said Ojat.
Meanwhile, UNAIR Rector welcomed well the visit. He hoped this visit can be followed up to produce mutual collaborations.
“However, UT is also state institution to accomplish the mission of the state to develop education in Indonesia as we always do. Good relations will determine our success,” stated UNAIR Rector. (*)
